Chuck/Rump Roast 4 Med.Potatoes, quartered
1/2 CupWater/broth/tomatoe 2 Tbsp.Butter or shortening
3 Med.Onions, halved 1 Tsp.Salt
4 Med.Carrots, 2¨ piece 1/4 Tsp.Pepper
Season roast with salt & pepper. (Optional: Toss roast in a bowl of flour coating evenly.) In a skillet, brown roast evenly on all sides. Move beef & vegetables to covered slow cooker, dutch oven or roasting pan.
Cook at a gentle simmer for 10-12 hrs. on low heat or 5 hrs. on high heat until fork tender.
